Congratulations to United States Taekwondo Coach Lynda Laurin for Her Outstanding International Coaching Enrichment Certification Program (ICECP) Achievement.

USA Taekwondo, the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee, the University of Delaware, and Olympic Solidarity would like to congratulate Ms. Lynda Laurin on the completion of the International Coaching Enrichment Certificate Program (ICECP).

The ICECP provides national-level coaches with enhanced coaching and leadership skills, along with the latest coaching principles from the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee and the University of Delaware.

USA Taekwondo Coach Lynda Laurin successfully completed the ICECP with honors with her project “Leadership Skills Pivotal to Talent Identification and Sport Performance in Taekwondo.

The purpose of the project was threefold.  It was to analyze athlete/coach leadership data and athletic performance outcomes, determine trends per world class categories (Cadets, Juniors, Seniors) and to correlate leadership skills and athletic performance outcomes for coach/athlete talent identification.  The intent of the study was to serve as a pilot research study with the results to serve as a basis for growth, talent identification, and performance for coaches and athletes to achieve competitive excellence together.

Ms. Laurin has been awarded 35 continuing education credits from the University of Delaware.  The award is based on her participation in 350 contact hours comprised of lectures, group work, demos, an apprenticeship with national-level coaches and the development and implementation of her project.

The International Coaching Enrichment Certificate Program honored Ms. Lynda Laurin in a ceremony held on April 24 at the International Olympic Committee headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland.
